About the Role

Civil Rights Corps is seeking a part-time operations assistant to join our team. The Operations Assistant is responsible for many of the day-to-day administrative functions of the Operations Department at Civil Rights Corps. The position is both public facing, as they are generally the first person that people speak with or see when contacting CRC and also an internal-facing position as they provide day-to-day support to all staff (and shared space partners as appropriate) either directly or indirectly. This position reports to the Operations Director.

This part-time position is expected to be in CRC’s Washington D.C. office 5 days a week — and to work up to 25 hours weekly.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

Front desk/phone management, including:

  • Monitoring front desk to greet and assist all visitors
  • Answering phones and directing people to appropriate person both within CRC and subtenants, etc. as necessary.
  • Tracking and responding to phone messages, email and other electronic communications.


Office management, including:

  • Managing all incoming and outgoing mail per CRC mail policy
  • Serving as primary liaison to office/shared space partners
  • Ensuring CRC space is functional; engage with building management as necessary
  • Managing office supply/inventory and ordering
  • Managing internal/team communications, including Zoom accounts
  • Managing office access, including Datawatch permissions
  • Managing and supporting meeting rooms including A/V
  • Supporting internal coordination with IT support partner


Staff support, including:

  • Supporting CRC and Shared Space partner meetings, including AV needs
  • Assisting with varied operations team responsibilities, including data entry and scheduling
  • Assisting CRC staff with tasks as necessary, including mail preparation, travel and scheduling


Qualifications

  • Ability to cooperate and effectively communicate with a diverse staff, partners, and visitors
  • Comfortable working in MS Office, Zoom, Slack, G-Suite, Google Calendar; proficiency in MS Word, Excel a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, including exercising appropriate judgment to resolve administrative issues
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take on new projects and assignments
  • Comfortable working across teams


Salary and Benefits

This is a part-time position based in CRC’s Washington, D.C. office five days per week, with an expected schedule of up to 25 hours weekly. This is an hourly position and paid at $28 to $30 dollars per hour. This position is eligible for our unlimited leave policy (with approval), commuter benefits, and the ability to earn overtime.
