Job Description
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for many of the day-to-day administrative functions of the Operations Department at CRC. The Administrative Assistant is both a public facing position; they are generally the first person that people speak with or see when contacting CRC and also an internal facing position as they provide day-to-day support to all staff either directly or indirectly. This is a new position, in our DC office, on a growing Operations team and reflective of the increased administrative support needs as CRC continues to grow.
Job duties include:
Front desk/phone management, including:
- Sit at front desk to assist visitors as needed
- Answer phones and direct people to appropriate person both within CRC and elsewhere when necessary
- Track and respond to phone messages, email and other electronic communications as necessary
Office management, including
- Manage all incoming and outgoing mail
- Implement COVID safety protocols and general security measures
- Ensure CRC office space is functional.
- Manage office supply inventory and ordering.
- Manage internal/team telecommunications, phone system and Zoom meeting accounts
Staff support, including:
- Assist with varied Operations Team responsibilities including data entry and scheduling.
- Assist CRC staff with tasks as necessary and may including mailing preparation, travel assistance and scheduling.
- Assist CRC Senior Leadership with expense reports and administrative requests.
- Internal and external meeting support, including A/V
Qualifications
The ideal administrative assistant is passionate about social justice, hard-working, a fast learner, proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks, and able to work well in a collaborative environment. Specific qualifications we are looking for include:
- Ability to cooperate and effectively communicate with a diverse staff, supporters and visitors.
- Comfortable working in MS Office, proficiency in MS Word and Excel a plus.
- QuickBooks experience a plus.
- Scheduling experience working across multiple calendars.
- Ability to work efficiently and autonomously and exercise independent judgment to solve administrative issues.
- Attention to detail.
- Comfortable taking on new projects and assignments
Salary, Benefits, and Logistics
This is a full-time position beginning Spring 2023. This is an on-site position in our Washington, D.C. office. The candidate will receive excellent benefits, including full health care coverage, generous retirement benefits, unlimited paid time off, public transportation, and relocation benefits. United Civil Rights Workers, the CRC union, represents this position. The position will be paid a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The starting salary for this position is $54,000. The position is also eligible for overtime pay.
